OUR STORY
Wolfe Ridge Farm informally formed in 2016 when circumstances found us housing dozens of rescue roosters from a San Lorenzo Valley resident. Wolfe Ridge Farm has formally started our journey to nonprofit 501 (c) status in 2022. Wolfe Ridge Farm formed to rescue as many stray and homeless roosters as possible by working with local volunteers and feed stores. Rescuing roosters is a permanent arrangement and lifelong commitment. Wolfe Ridge Farm believes in the beauty of backyard flocks and does everything it can to educate flock owners on the positives of having a rooster. Not all flock owners can or want to have a rooster, so we attempt to intercept as many as we can, before they are released to the wild or surrendered to shelters. Local feed stores, that supply most of the chickens in the community, are working with us in an effort to house and care for as many unwanted roosters as possible.

ABOUT WOLFE RIDGE FARM
Wolfe Ridge Farm is a not for profit, volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and unwanted roosters. By working with a network of volunteer advocates, local veterinarians and local feed stores, Wolfe Ridge Farm is able to rescue many of the unwanted and abandoned roosters from the surrounding community. We provide these animals with food, care, health and permanent homes as fostering and adoptions are rarely successful with roosters. We also serve as a resource to our community by providing information and reeducation on the myths and needs of roosters. We believe that no animal should be mistreated and are working towards the day when no rooster is euthanized or eaten by a forest predator, for lack of a home.
